Introduction to Latin

This free, introductory Latin online course is designed to equip students with the fundamentals of the Latin language, including Latin translation, reading, and oratory skills. The program includes bi-weekly classes with an instructor and a small group of students. By the end of the course, students will be able to present a piece of prose in Latin of their own choosing and develop a working vocabulary of about 100 words. Sign Up Here!

Course Details:
  • Completely free, for students who wish to learn Latin, and thus improve their English literacy and develop strong, foundational linguistic skills.
  • Basics of the Latin language, including noun and adjective declensions and verb forms, coupled with pronunciation and listening comprehension.
  • A curriculum based on excerpts and adaptations of Latin passages from key Roman literature, philosophy, mythology, and science, allowing students to develop understanding of not only the Latin language, but also Ancient Roman culture, history, and mythology.
